I carry OWB, it's more comfortable for me. I just can't believe it took this long to find the perfect holster. Had been using a leather holster, but the tell-tale squeak always bothered me, no noise here! I'm not crazy about a thumb break strap, the holster is a snug fit on its own. The description states "removable", but no documentation anywhere about how to do it, so here goes... The strap is held in on both sides by hook and loop (velcro) fasteners between the strap and the outside fabric of the holster. I found the best way to remove it is to slide a butter knife down the slot between the strap and the holster fabric, to work the velcro free. Then the strap just slides out. I imagine if I wanted to put it back in, it would be the same procedure in reverse.
The rentention of the magazines is more than adequate but the inability to insert a belt with a high level of rigidity ruins the overall function of the mag carrier. The belt loop holes need to be further apart and somewhat larger to be able to manipulate the holster yet retain its stability on the belt.
The holster itself will fit the pistol conifguration I have and will do well with retention. However, to be able to engage the snap closure, the pistol has to be forced so far down into the holster that I am unable to grasp the magazine well/pistol grip due to the holster and its belt loop location. When positioned to be able to adequatly grasp the pistol to draw from the holster, the trigger and trigger guard are inadequately covered. I feel that in the effort to save leather and have a "smaller footprint" the holster and belt loops are too close to the weapon pocket and makes it VERY difficult to get any type of rigid belt through the holes/loops. The leather itself seems to be strong and firm yet when manipulating the holster to make the holster and closure more malleable, it ruins the appearance of the holster and makes it look like dried out leather with many "spiderweb" like cracks in the leather. The rear belt loop needs to be pushed back and then lowered so there is more room between the holster itself and the pistol grip while still covering the trigger and trigger guard.
The fit and finish of the holster is excellent! It did take some break-in using the "Care Kit" and the speed-loader pouches were problematic. The speed-loader pouches had to be extensively broken in to allow Safariland Comp II speed-loaders to to be used. However, once broken in, HKS speed-loaders inserted and extracted easily and without issue. The retaining strap took an excessive amount of stretching to reach around the Ruger GP-100. It was easy to tell that a GP-100, or mock-up GP-100 had not been used to measure the retaining strap length. Once the strap was stretched to a suitable length, a Smith and Wesson Model 686 inserted easily into the holster and the retaining strap more easily secured the holster. The Roto-Shoulder Holster is an excellent concept. I like it so much that I had ordered one for my 1911 pistols and one for my Glock G20 pistol.
There was a defect with the original order and Falco Holsters was very quick in replacing the holster. The new holster is perfect. Thank you for excellent customer service!
The fit of the pistol with a tac light is great, however the snap closure is too short and will not snap together. Other than this issue, the holster is well made and will still work for all intents and purposes.
Belt was a little more problematic. The buckle metal strap was too narrow for the belt to fit through. On examining it I saw the metal strap had a bow in it. Took some pliers and squeezed it flat. Fixed the problem. Also wished the holes were a little closer together than 30mm. But fixed that also with a hole punch. Nicely finished.
The holster is well made. Tight, but broke in nicely. Kept me updated on the progress and shipment.
Everything was great. Shipping was sooner than I expected. The replacement snaps were exactly what I needed and we easy to install.
Too big for my weapon and no strap with snap button so weapons easily falls out. Not happy at all.
Hello James, I am sorry to hear that. The holster should not be too big in any case. This seems like a mistake on our side. Please make sure to shoot an email to Veronika at [email protected] and she will be happy to assist you with a replacement. We also have the same SOB holster with the thumb strap, if you prefer the strap option, we will be happy to exchange the holster for that design. When I visited Falco's website for the first time I knew this would be my new go-to for my holster needs. After contacting Falco with a questing concerning laser engraving, I ordered a holster for my Glock 19 and a mag holster for my Glock 43. I absolutely love it!! The quality and workmanship is superb along with prompt and professional customer service. Im coming back for more in the near future!! Thank you!!
Holster shipped fast. Holster is made great and fits great! Retention is a little weaker than I like but that's ok.
Holster was very tight. Glad I had the leather break in fluid and impregnation oil. used the break in fluid first with my gun in a plastic ziplock bag and then the oil with the gun still in the bag. Works great now. I don't think it would have been useable without going through that process. Falco should include fluids with every premium leather holster.
Doesn't fit the mag I have that it was mounded to. Looks and feels nice just doesn't fit.
Overall I'm very pleased. They are well made and with good leather. I would've liked the belt clips to have been set higher but fits well and is comfortable.
Excellent quality.
The holster was designed to small for the application rendering it useless to my specific order had a little bit more detail i believe it would be a very good product
Really cool, super fitting, adjustable in every imaginable way, will definitely order more for my other guns!
Everything from the design process to customer support has been excellent. When the holster came it was a tight fit and the thumb strap didn't latch, however after a few emails they were able to teach me how to properly break it all in. Now it's a perfect fit and I couldn't be happier with my purchase.
Overall nice holster, But I have two complaints. The metal clips you use are horrible, they are too stiff and end is too short and wrong angle to pull open with finger to slide over belt. The stitching on pad on sweat guard poorly knotted and rubs skin. I had to change the clips and glue a piece of leather over sweat guard patch.
