HANDMADE CUSTOM-FIT HOLSTERS FOR ALMOST ANY GUN
How Much Does a Custom Holster Cost in 2026?
A typical custom holster costs around $100. Outdoor Life's concealed carry holster reviews say that most custom holsters "come in at closer to $100." FALCO Holsters, a company crafting custom-fit handmade holsters for almost any handgun and light, has made holsters since 1989. Today we make them to order for more than 3,600 handgun models and 180+ weapon lights. As of October 2026, most of our custom-fit leather, Kydex and hybrid holsters cost about $70 to $160 before options. Carbon fiber and hand-carved leather cost more. Extras like a red dot cut add a little on top. The tables below show the details, and each product page shows your exact total before you order.
How much does a custom holster cost by material?
Standard leather costs the least, and hand-carved leather costs the most. The table shows October 2026 prices for most IWB and OWB holsters in each material, before options. Belts, magazine pouches, shoulder rigs, belly bands and Kydex duty holsters aren't included.

Why does the same leather holster come in three prices?
A better grade costs more because the hide is better and more of the work is done by hand. The design stays the same. Our A112 Hawk IWB comes in all three grades. Here's how they compare, with prices as of October 2026:
| Grade |
Model |
Leather |
Price
|
| Premium |
A112 |
Full-grain Italian leather, dyed and finished by hand |
$129.95 |
| Classic |
A212 |
Italian leather, colored and lacquered at the tannery |
$95.95 |
| Comfort |
A412 |
Suede |
$74.95 |
Premium takes the most work. The hide arrives undyed, and we dye it by hand. Then we cut, stitch and wet-mold it, oil it with vegetable-based oils and lacquer it by hand. Only about one hide in four is good enough for Premium.
Classic leather is just as thick as Premium. The difference is that the Italian tannery colors and lacquers it before it reaches us, so there's less handwork left to do. That's why Classic costs less. It's a little softer, with a little less shine, and it's reinforced and double-stitched where it wears most.
Comfort is suede, the underside of the hide, and it molds easily. The A412 has the same open-top design and sweat guard as the A112 and A212.
Every grade, Comfort included, is built for daily IWB carry.
What do you get for the price of a custom-fit holster?
You get a holster made for your exact gun, one holster at a time. An off-the-shelf holster is made in bulk to fit a range of similar guns. We mold every custom-fit holster around a replica of the gun it's for, so it follows the shape of your gun and no other.
An uncommon gun doesn't cost more. Our A112 Hawk costs the same in Premium leather whether it's made for a Glock 19, a Walther PPK or a Smith & Wesson 686 revolver.
Off-the-shelf prices vary a lot. For quality off-the-shelf gear, Bob Campbell gives a price of around $100 in USCCA's custom holster guide.
Most of our custom-fit holsters sit close to that figure. When David Herman tested one of our light-bearing leather holsters for American Hunter in 2022, he wrote that we make "what are, as best I can tell, fully customized holsters for a standard price and lead time."
Which options add to the price of a custom holster?
Most options add a small amount each, and basic choices such as your dominant hand, a standard belt width and the model of your light cost nothing extra. The table shows October 2026 prices from the configurators on our A112 Hawk leather IWB and A903 L Kydex IWB pages. Options vary by model, and each product page shows your total as you choose them.
| Option | Added cost |
| Left-hand or right-hand | No extra charge |
| Standard belt width (1.5" or 2" on the A112) | No extra charge |
| Choice of light or laser on a light-bearing model | No extra charge |
| Light-bearing version (model number ending in L) | Listed at $6 more on most IWB models and $10 more on most OWB models; same price on carbon fiber |
| Red dot sight cut, pistol or revolver | $15.95 |
| Room in the holster for high or tritium sights | $12.95 |
| Holster claw (Timeless A634, Kydex A903 L) | $13.95 |
| Carry angle other than the model's default | $9.95 on some models |
| Embossing on the front or back | $9.95 per side |
| Laser engraving of an image or logo | $19.95 per side |
| Leather color other than Brown or Black (Premium) | $19.95 |
| Stitching color other than Contrast, Black or Brown | $15.95 |
| Edge color other than Black or Brown | $19.95 |
| No sweat guard (the A112 Hawk and A903 L come with one as standard) | $19.95 |
| Leather underlay, a second layer of 1 mm suede that is gentler on the gun's finish and makes the holster firmer | $49.95 |

Which colors you can choose depends on the leather grade. The Premium A112 Hawk comes in nine leather colors, and most of them cost a little extra. The Classic A212 comes in Brown and Black only. Our Timeless holsters come in Tan Brown, Saddle Brown and Black at no extra charge.
If your gun carries a light, you'll find every holster made for one on our light-bearing holsters page. For a gun with both a light and a red dot, see our optics-ready light-bearing holsters.
How long does a custom holster take?
A custom holster from us typically takes about two weeks from order to delivery, which is weeks or even months faster than most custom leather makers. Production takes about ten days, and FedEx delivery adds three to four more. Each product page shows the date to expect for an order placed that day, so you know the timing before you order.
Is a custom holster worth it compared with a cheap universal holster?
A custom-fit holster is worth it if you carry the same gun regularly, because it's made for that gun and no other. A universal holster is the better buy if you own a gun shop, carry only now and then, switch between similar guns, or want to try a carry position before you settle on one.
If a universal holster suits you, look at our Multifit universal line. Multifit holsters are cut to fit a range of similar guns, so you choose a size instead of your exact gun. The leather models use the same leather as our Classic grade.
Some Multifit holsters come only in Multifit sizes. They're the best value we offer, and they cost less than our custom-fit IWB and OWB holsters:
- AM82 nylon IWB/OWB holster
- AM03 simple leather IWB/OWB holster
Designs that come in both custom fit and Multifit cost the same either way, so on those the custom fit costs you nothing extra. Two examples are the AM02 optics-ready leather holster and the A634 Langdon.
What happens if the holster doesn't fit or you change guns?
Holsters you buy on falcoholsters.com are covered by our lifetime limited warranty, and you have 30 days to return one for store credit. The terms that matter most:
- Lifetime limited warranty: we repair or replace a holster with a defect in materials or workmanship for the life of the holster. Normal wear, like scuffs and scratches, isn't covered.
- 30-day buyback: you can return a holster within 30 days of receiving it for store credit, issued as a gift card. A holster in as-new condition gets full credit. Contact us before you send it back.
- Wrong gun or light: the buyback doesn't cover a holster ordered for the wrong gun or light. Check your gun's model and variant, and your light, before you order.
If you change guns within 30 days of receiving your holster, you can return it and put the store credit toward another holster. After 30 days, a new gun means buying a new holster. The full terms are on our guarantee page.
How much does a one-off custom holster cost?
A one-off holster that we don't list, such as a holster for a rare firearm, has no set price. Through Falco Bespoke, you describe what you want by email, and we reply with a personalized quote.
How to price a custom holster for your gun
The quickest way to get an exact price is to build the holster on our site. Start with Shop by handgun on our homepage and choose your gun. Then pick a model in the material you want, and choose your light and options in the configurator. The price updates as you go, so you see the total, with every option, before you order.
If you're not sure which variant of your gun or light to pick, email us at [email protected] or ask in the chat on falcoholsters.com. We'd rather help you get it right before we make your holster than have you guess.
